What can I look up with this tool?

Enter any barcode, EAN-13 or UPC-A number and the tool will try to find matching product details. It works best for packaged food and grocery items because it queries the Open Food Facts database, which contains millions of food products from around the world.

Can I scan a barcode with my camera?

Yes. Click the Scan button and allow camera access. The scanner reads QR codes and many 1D barcodes. Once a code is captured it is added to the lookup table so you can fetch product details.

Is my barcode data kept private?

Yes. Your barcodes are looked up through a server-side proxy, so your IP address is not sent to third-party databases. The lookup result, your list and any CSV you export never leave your browser storage unless you choose to send products to the barcode generator.

Why was my barcode not found?

Open Food Facts specialises in food products. Barcodes for electronics, clothing, hardware, books and other non-food items are much less likely to be present. You can still type in a product name manually and send the row to the barcode generator to create a label.

Can I look up many barcodes at once?

Yes. Add rows manually, paste a column of barcodes, or import a CSV with a barcode column. Click Look up all to run every pending barcode in parallel, then export the results to CSV.

How do I make labels from the results?

Select the rows you want and click Send to barcode generator in the inspector. The product name, barcode value and quantity are transferred to Stash's barcode and label generator, where you can choose a label size and print or download PDF, SVG and PNG files.

What is the difference between a retail barcode and an internal barcode?

Retail barcodes such as EAN-13 and UPC-A are issued by GS1 and identify a product globally. Internal barcodes such as Code 128 are created by a business for its own SKUs, bins or locations. This lookup tool focuses on retail codes; for internal codes you can generate labels directly in the barcode generator.

Can I use this for inventory management?
